About Best Hosting Match

A free web hosting decision engine built to serve beginners and professionals at the same time, without the paid-placement games that plague this industry.

Part of BestMatch Group. Data verified 12 June 2026.

Why this exists

Most "best hosting" lists are ranked by who pays the highest affiliate commission, not by who is actually best for the user. Renewal prices are hidden. Beginners get drowned in jargon; professionals get patronised with oversimplified fluff.

Best Hosting Match does it differently: one transparent scoring system, applied equally to all 22 providers, with the renewal-price trap shown front and centre via our True 3-Year Cost.

Part of BestMatch Group

Best Hosting Match is the hosting member of BestMatch Group, a family of free comparison and decision engines for complicated online service choices. The shared promise is simple: weighted metrics, real costs, transparent scoring, practical diagnostics, and no paid placement.

The dual-audience promise

Every page works two ways. Beginners see plain-English explanations, price focus, and simple recommendations. Professionals can toggle the "Pro view" to reveal uptime SLAs, server specs, and developer tools. Tooltips explain every metric. Nobody is left out.

How we make money

Right now: nothing. At launch there are no affiliate links. Every "Visit site" button links directly to the provider's official homepage. We're building trust first.

When we do add affiliate partnerships, every sponsored link will be clearly marked, disclosed on this page and in our ethics policy, and — critically — it will never change a score or ranking. Scores are locked to the methodology, not to commission rates.

Who runs it

Best Hosting Match is run independently by Carl Boon. Its sibling decision engines are Best VPN Match and Best VPS Match, both built on the same honest, editorial-first principles.

Accuracy

Scores are editorial and defensible, not absolute. Hosting changes fast — prices shift, features get added, SLAs change. We re-verify regularly and date every update. If you spot something out of date, the data is openly published as a JSON endpoint so it can be checked.
